EMR ---The expense of this system will shut many of us down. A modest surgical, practice in a small town cannot support the expense of the system, neither does it help in patient care. I already get all labs and x-rays via website, and most of payments are electronic. Patient information is allon computer and printed out for legibility. EMR works for academic centers and polyclinics, and for nationalized health syetem. If the govermnent wants the system, govermnent should pay and support it. To take such massive loans for some of us who are half way past practice yaers, but are still able and need to work will be out of a job. General surgeons are scarce these days especially in small town, this will also effect communities. Thany you. Dr. Dey

I do think it will increase. I think the real problem is that docs will feel "forced" and do a bad implementation. Implementation is almost more important than product choice.
